The Fountain of Othon

This marble fountain is in front of the entrance of the Castle, and was built in honor of King Othon, in remembrance of this visit to Filoti in 1833.
On the marble the following words in the official Greek language of the times are inscribed, loosely translated saying:
This Fountain was built at the cost and expense of Mister Frantzisko Barotsi, former “Kantzelario”. All who art thirsty come to the fountain to wet your lips and pray to God for the longevity of the King of ours Othon – 1835.
